Parchamo Peak(6,187m.)

Overview

Parchamo Peak is the most popular climbing peak for trekkers who are crossing the high Tashi Lapcha Pass (5,755m) to Khumbu Valley in the Everest region. The Parchamo Peak (Parchemuche) which lies due south of the Tesi Lapcha, is unnamed on the Schneider Rolwaling Himal map, but is given a spot height of 6,273m. The Rolwsaling valley is the main access to Pachermo.Seen from the pass ,the mountain is an attractive but straight forward snow peak with a well defined north by north west ridge rising from the relatively flat, crevassed glacier astride the Tesi Lapcha. The peak can be combined with the more demanding Ramdung Go peak combined with the trek over the Tesi Lapcha in about 24 days or more. We follow the trekking trail to Thame and then Thengpo to Ngole to set up the base camp on the moraines ( 5,100m.). As we climb we arrive at another possible campsite but not advisable to set up the camp due to rock falling danger. We continue climbing north-east of the icefall of Tesi Lapcha and arrive just below the rock walls where we fix high camp on rocky terraces (5,500m.). From the high camp we gain the ridge of Pacharmo which is raised from the glaciers of Tesi Lapcha Pass. We follow the ridge without much difficulty but some time crevasses can cause some problems near to the summit.
